Pat's Never-Fail Spritz Cookies
These are another family classic cookie, from my Great Aunt Pat. Despite claiming to be "never-fail," I've still managed to mess them up at least once, since I had a version of the recipe with a list of ingredients and no instructions.
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- ⅔ cup sugar
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Food coloring or cocoa powder
- 2½ cups flour
Source: Aunt Pat Krause
Cook Time: 8 minutes
Instructions
- Mix together all ingredients except the flour. If you want colored cookies (like green for trees), add the food coloring. If you want chocolate cookies, add a dash of cocoa powder. Add the flour slowly, incorporating between each addition. (If you don't they'll fail.)
- Use a spritzer to turn the dough into cookies. You can add sprinkles at this point if you want.
- Bake 8 minutes at 350°F.
