Marshmallow Fondant
There's other fondant, but this tastes better. And it's wicked easy. I used this stuff to make the sulci of a brain-shaped cake.
Ingredients
- 8 oz (4 cups) miniature marshmallows
- Food coloring and/or cocoa powder
- 2 Tbsp water
- 1 lb (4 cups) powdered sugar
Instructions
- Place the marshmallows and water in a large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 1 minute. Stir with a rubber spatula. If the marshmallows are not smooth and completely melted, microwave for another 30-45 seconds. Add cocoa powder and/or food coloring to obtain whatever color you want. Begin to add the powdered sugar and mix (with an electric mixer, if you have one). Continue to add sugar until it becomes hard to stir and the sugar does not seem to be incorporating. Dust your hands with powdered sugar and begin to knead the fondant like bread dough. Knead in powdered sugar until it loses its stickiness.
