For some reason these were a dinner food growing up, never a breakfast food.
- 1¾ cups flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 cups buttermilk
- ⅓ cup vegetable oil
- 2 eggs

- Preheat waffle iron as manufacturer directs. In large bowl with whisk, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add buttermilk, oil, and eggs to flour mixture and beat until thoroughly blended.
- Pour batter into center of lower half of waffle iron until it spreads to about 1 inch from edges.
- Cover and bake as manufacturer directs; do not lift the cover during baking time.
